We realize if this title was a children’s book it would probably set world records for the least number of copies sold in the history of publishing. Since you clicked on it, though, we clearly sparked your interest. (Okay. We know you were just thinking, “What the heck kind of company thinks something this cheesy works?”) Well, cheesy titles work a little bit, and it’s hard not to be a little trite when we talk about how much effective online brand management is!

Everyone in the business world knows the importance of a brand. It carries prestige, reputation, and that wonderful sneaky ability to encourage potential customers to choose your product. If a brand isn’t known and associated with quality, it’s almost impossible to retain sales, and it can’t be known or associated with anything unless it’s being managed.

Online brand management works the same way. More and more elements of the marketing industry are moving toward the Internet, because buyers no longer consult the yellow pages or TV commercials to find services and products. They search on Google instead; they read blogs and reviews from others; they determine quality from the craftsmanship and professionalism of a website. That puts a lot of pressure on companies to solidify an online presence—and not just a presence, but a noticeable, memorable, and reputable brand. Non-technical firms, who know nothing about online search marketing and link building, may be tempted to surrender, but that’s where outside companies step in. There are plenty of businesses out there that can help you manage your brand online, so if you don’t know the industry well enough to do it yourself, call them as soon as possible. Franklin might be some silly name invented for a title, but if business owners like him don’t hop on the online brand management train soon, their stores really will be empty!
